We took off some time to travel the world.
Our journey took us away from family and friends on the 19th of March 2006. We flew direct from Cape Town to Buenos Aires and then travelled through Argentina down to Patagonia. We crossed into Chile for trekking and travelled up Chile stopping over at Easter Island. We ended up way North in the Atacama desert where we crossed into Bolivia. After some Spanish, mountain biking, jungle exploring and cheap food we headed to Peru for ruins, floating villages, and many other strange sites.
Ecuador followed where we were fortunate enough to visit the Galapagos Islands, amongst other amazing places. We headed back into the Northern areas of Peru. From here we began Amazon river travel which took us into Brazil and onward for some amazing Amazon jungle exploring. We were quick to leave the expensive Brazil behind in favour of beautiful Venezuela. Cuba was next and in so many ways ended up being our highlight country. We flew out of Havanna for Buenos Aires where we stopped over for a few days before heading home.
We arrived back in South Africa on 7 September 2006 for a brief stopover to do the washing, catch up with friends and family, eat, braai, surf and rest before we headed off to India on the 12th of October 2006.
After a brief stopover in India, we were off to Nepal for some trekking and jungle safaris before we returned to India. We then spend a few days in Singapore and Thailand to get our visas to head on to Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia. We loved Laos so much that we cut our time short in Vietnam (and decided to give our Malaysia travel plans a skip) to head back to Laos. After that we headed to Cambodia for about 2 weeks. Our trip back to Singapore took us through Malaysia and after a good shopping spree in Singapore it was time to head home. We arrived in the Cape on the 2nd Feb 2007.
